Well, we had a rule where if you said your character did something incredibly stupid, joking around. You rolled a d6 and on a 6 you did it. I seem to remember a character licking an old lady, urinating on a bedroll, defecating on an elven relic, Killing a noble, A paladin instantly losing his powers when he stabbed a small child...ahhh. good times. Dnd has good points but now I generally just play SWRPG since it seems more realistic. eh. I liked 2nd but as the add-on books got more insane I got out of touch with it. 3rd works well and doesn't limit imagination, just keeps things in hand.

So now its time for Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition.

So is the franchise going to morph into another MMORPG?

We'll see.... Thoughts?

That's because, D&D Web specialist Chris Youngs told me, everything is organized in the online tools in such a way that players and dungeon masters alike will be able to find what they need without being required to flip around through the books. Which for anyone who ever played D&D knows is a seriously time-consuming part of the experience.
Or could it just be that there hasn't been a D&D book written yet that had a decent index? [] Thank goodness a couple of the guys I play with can pretty much say, "oh, that's on page 27".

Man, flipping through the books to look up some obscure rule is part of D&D's charm. []

Well... my fun days spend playing D&D was the 2nd Edition days, when the rule book was really only guidelines for the DM.
