Worse stil is this "ranger of Arnor" Aragorn meets in the Wood sp. The ranger calls himself Arithir - son of Ar-somebody. Now isn't it ridiculous? Only the rightful King/chieftain of Arnor has the right for name starting with "Ar". So, who is this impostor really? Note he doesn't know his Chieftain and doesn't even know the name "Strider".I bet he must be a badly-instructed spy of Sauron.
Yeah, that scene was awkward. Judging by the way they met, with Arithir proclaiming loyalty to the "Seven Stars and Stones" and Aragorn asking if he was also loyal to the "One White Tree," my guess is that, since they were trying to fit this into the film continuity, they thought that since Aragorn was always only mentioned as heir to the throne of Gondor that he was somehow meant to be separate from the Dúnedain of the North. But in The Two Towers Extended Edition, Aragorn explicitly tells Éowyn that he's descended from the rulers of the North-kingdom! []

The thing about the PJ movie, is that there was never a hunt for Gollum-- Gandalf knew that Gollum was following them, and he just lectures Frodo that "it's wrong to kill him."
Ok, how about handing him over at Lorien?
Nope, Gandalf isn't only against killing, but also capturing-- and thus it's a complete mystery how anyone found out that Gollum went to Mordor, how he got the Ring int he first place etc, or indeed how they learned about Isildur dropping it there, since Gandalf apparently had nothing to do with him.
It'll be interesting how the movie brazens this out, but it never stopped them before.

Yes, quite true. I suppose if they had given this a fair go before the first teaser of Fellowship of the Ring was ever shown, it would have been great.
