Thanks... I guess. But how did you come to the conclusion that #2 is Ringil and #8 is Wand?

Well, I've figured out what the password itself is soon enough (before you told me what the theme was). Hence the first letters.
"No girly thing" felt like an anagram at first, but perhaps it's some sort of alliterative hint. In any case, Morgoth was never healed of the pain that Fingolfin's blade dealt him.
And the wand that was forbidden, but was present nonetheless, is Gandalf's at Meduseld. Actually it's a staff but perhaps to Hidalgo, whose mother tongue isn't English, they're the same.

Hidalgo has been missing in action for several weeks now. This puzzle has been solved it would seem. Shall we continue or wait until confirmation? Eith would be up, no?

Well, I am also going to stay AWOL for a while - it is the Jewish Holiday Season, and my free time is going to be very hectic this month. Besides, I am not sure I got it all right!

Eitheladar: 2 and 4 are correct, 8 isn't. It was a good guess, but I can still distinguish Harry Potter from Gandalf .
