I own all 12 volumes, but I've only read 10 of them.

Some of you are probably saying, "Only? I haven't been able to get through the first 2 books!"

Well, some of it was a tough read, but it gets easier and more fulfilling on re-reads. I've read 'The Lost Road' quite a few times. Once you read them all, you'll decide which ones you enjoy enough to read over again.

I plan on reading the whole series over again in a month or so. This time, I'm going to read them all!

I still haven't gotten around to reading them yet, I'm a little low on funds.

Of course, there's always a library...

Ive found all my books fairly easy actually, LOTR, Hobbit, and The Silm you can find at any bookstore anywhere, at some you can find UT and BoLT 1 & 2. The rest of HoME ive only seen at a few bookstores and a lot of times they arent in, so i just order books from the bookstore and then i get it in a few days. Thats what I did with The Lays of Beleriand and what i probably will do with the rest of HoME

oh ya, back to the bragging

Ive read:
Unfinished Tales
Book of Lost Tales 1
Book of Lost Tales 2
and im in the process of reading The Lays of Beleriand

I recently discovered that the fair public Library of Laurenendor possesses all 12 volumes. I can see that there is some serious reading to be done here.

It is simply amazing how tolkien was able to tell the stories with such elequence and vivid imagery and at the same time keep it in poetic form.

I own 8 or 9 of them.
I haven't read any of them in full (nearly all of 1 and 2), but I've read sections of all of them - mostly I bought the book to be able to study that section.

And the reason was often that we had been discussing it here at MT.

Never heard of them before today, they sound interesting, so I'll have to look for them... From the looks of things they're hard to find, so I just might have to order online or something. So, I guess what I mean to say is that I have no bragging rights whatsoever []

If you're into the deep study of all things Tolkien and want all the variable tellings of the tales they are worth getting. Libraries are a good source to get them without paying for them.

Definitely checking the library first, always a good plan! [] The online checkout was plan b, if I couldn't find them in the library, if they are indeed as hard to find in America as others claim. [] Thanks for the advice, though! []
