The Most 'Metal' Deaths in Middle Earth , ranked.

I think I agree with this completely – certainly the top 5.

[Lúthien's] descendent Arwen would later make the same choice to be with Viggo Mortensen...

Was that supposed to be funny?

Hurin's death would have been top five metal if only he had died in battle rather than being captured. Instead of a metal death, Hurin is that one love ballad the band makes so they can get radio airplay and finance their next album.

After further consideration I would substitute Maedhros for Ungoliant, the latter's death being more stupid than metal.

A bit of a shame that an article about the books did have to include a line from the movies in it. And one of the more ridiculous lines as well, 'This day we fight,' indeed.
However, I might suggest Thingol as a metal death. Laughs at the Dwarves, refuses them payment, tempted by the jewel, says that they are of an 'uncouth race,' thinks that he is secure deep in his own kingdom, then is slain by their axes for his pains and his kingdom is destroyed as a result!

Snowy, was that a transparent attempt to lure Curufin back to this fair city? []

Picture the scene....

A group of dwarves, heavily bearded, cloaks stained with the dust of travel, sit around a rough-hewn wooden table in the smoky half-light of the Unexpected Party's back bar. They have journeyed long, and their faces are lined with years.

As one, they raise their tankards and drink deeply as men do who have known little of comfort. A thoughtful silence descends upon the group. Eventually, one dwarf turns to his companions and says:

"You know, that Fëanor. He really was a bit of a d-"

He is interrupted by a distant crashing that echoes through the streets of white stone. The clamour draws closer, and the companions rise to their feet, hands upon their sword belts. Suddenly the stone wall before them crumbles and gapes, and in the blaze of light there stands a woman, tall and dark-haired, her face an incandescent mask of fury. She rounds upon the dwarves and in her rage shrieks thusly:

"WHAT THE F*** DID YOU JUST SAY ABOUT FËANOR??!!!!"
