Yeah, it's all the delays. He signed up to spend three years in NZ, not six or more.

I'm hoping this will mean Jackson is going to take back over, but they're probably going to look for someone else.
Apparently, Jackson said he's definitely not going to take over, but that they'll look for someone else indeed.

Jackson not taking over is good news in my book. Del Toro leaving - not so much.

Apparently, he´s going to direct them after all: Peter Jackson in talks to direct 'Hobbit' movies.

Then let's hope Jackson'll be less childish this time. I'm not optimistic though.

Fanboy gibberish?! Me?!

I see you haven't changed a bit, Madman. That's good news! And it's great to see you still roaming these halls as well.

Back on topic - all I can say is that Peter Jackson was destined to direct the Hobbit movies. It's his world, his vision. I'm extremely happy about this news.

I am beginning to doubt if these films will ever be made. Even if PJ seems serious, all of the political and financial shinanagins doesn't make it look promising. Though maybe all films go through this in pre-production and we just don't hear about them as much.

Lots of movies go through this, yeah. This one is just very high profile. Spider-man took at least a decade to get made. But they stand to make so much money from it I'm betting everything will work out.

Well, yes, Ney, considering that they have a built-in fan base one would think that the movies would make money which MGM desperately need! However, taking into account that the Economic times are a bit tougher now than when the Lotr films came out it might not quite be a racing certainty.

You do? I knew it! []

I think Del Tor and just about anybody else could have done better than the crap that has been TH so far.
