[] Hello! It's my birthday, and I am happy to celebrate here among all of you! I think it would be lovely to have cake and ice cream, with fudge and sorbet, and carmel toffee, plus fresh fruit. I'll also have some lovely black tea with cinnamon, ginger, cloves and nutmeg. Then, I'll have some French roast coffee (from Arabica beans), sweetened with just a little bit of honey. Alright - That's breakfast. If I'm not comatose later, I'll post the luncheon menu. [] [] []

I'll just grind a clove and a dash of Ceylon Cinnamon with my coffee beans and enjoy the cuppa.

I'm not sure about that combination - but it sounds interesting, so I'd like to try a cup as well.
And I'd like honey in this tea, rather than in coffee ...

Oh, Varna! Yes, please tell me how you like the tea. I love that spicy combo - It wakes me right up!
Aiwrendel, thanks kindly for the good wishes. I'm so sorry to report that I have no idea what the luncheon menu consisted of, but I'm sure it was delicious. []

I think I'd stick to cinnamon and nutmeg. And honey.

I don't usually take sugar or sweetener in my tea, but cinnamon calls for something sweet ...

Perhaps cinnamon tea with honey and without nutmeg is better.

Nostalgy indeed!

We're trying to keep it alive. And the menu is as flexible as ever.
We should start a new Opele soon, the current one has more pages than usual. I just need to find a good Quenya title for it.

Is there some entdraught here I could perhaps get my hands on? If not, tea will suffice.

We used to have most thinkable and unthinkable drinks in our stores - but I'm not sure about Entdraught. []

Have some tea - and if anyone else knows that we do have Entdraught and is able to find some for you, so much the better []

We'll have to build a pipeline from Fangorn to supply Entdraught.

Edit: with the post following this one, this place has gone down the tubes.

Edit: Some clarification of the previous post.

Pipeline
[ pahyp-lahyn]
NOUN
A long tubular conduit or series of pipes or tubes often underground (i.e. “gone down the tubes”), with pumps and valves for flow control, used to transport crude oil, natural gas, water, Entdraught; and on rare occasions Old Winyards etc., especially over great distances.

Several months belatedly, *hugs* for everyone!

I have had a fairly eventful few years! I'm now in Cambridge, studying for my second Masters' degree [] and I love it here. I have a book chapter on economics and education coming out next year, and various other very unexpected things of that nature going on.

My Quenya, alas, has become rather rusty, but I still have all my resources, so if people want to make suggestions, I shall see if I can translate them (and I won't take five months to check back next time, I promise! [] )

How are you all? What is going on in your lives?

*hugs back* eventually ... []

Great to hear about your projects in Cambridge!
And it's such a beautiful city, too []

For translation we could do with a title for a new Opelë - only I don't really know what new title. Perhaps it would be best with something about a slow walk? It took us four years to fill up the usual forty pages of this Teahouse, and then three more years for the next seven pages. Slow indeed []

If you have a suggestion that works well in both Quenya and English, please offer it []
Btw, do you still use your dorthonion mail address? Or have you had a problem with the password?

I'm still working in the same place as I did when I joined Minas Tirith. No very large changes in my life - other than the fact that health has become an issue this year. Either my growing age, or the installation last year in the block of flats where I live of devices ("smart meters") that give electromagnetic exposure. []

Doctors and hospitals have done a great job, though, so I seem to be fine at the moment - but I'm a bit more worried about my health than I used to be.

I'm a member of a Tolkien Society in Norway. They try to have a meeting every one or two months, with different speakers giving talks about relevant topics. This autumn there have been talks about the new Gondolin book, Tolkien's languages, and the Valar as god-like figures. I don't go to all the meetings, but to some of the most interesting ones. And there's always the offer to go to a restaurant together after the meeting. A very nice tradition. []
