Interestingly enough, we only have one Orc here (actually, the name is "Orc-y", whatever that means...)

And can someone explain what an urks-gogoses is? [] []

I lessthanthree hobbits, your defense was interesting. So interesting that I almost read your welcome thread to see what it was. But unfortunately, your appeal has been denied. Your citizen name has been declared too weird, and you have been doomed to spend the remainder of your time here being compared to other incomprehensible citizens such as A elf who knows Arwen and Naznahk the Blacktooth. Enjoy their company.

You guys have it all wrong. urks-gogoses is a Master of all of the deep implications behind the mythology of Tolkien. The name itself is a symbol of the inherent evil of Mankind in it’s original state. Uruk-Gorgoroth-Woses. The soldiers of Evil Incarnate, the place of our deepest Nightmares, and the name of the Pure Tribe of Mankind mixed together. urks-gogoses . The deep philosophical ramifications of such a divine name is only evident after long and hard meditations upon the Meaning of Life.

Just observe the one and only post of urks-gogoses :
quote:
Urks, goblins, orcs. In the book thear all the same i've read all the coments some of you say thear crouptead men some elfs. Urki-hari are the breading of sharky (Surman)of urks and men.

p.s. in case O never mind farwell

His meaning is clear. Man has been bred with the Forms of Evil, as Plato himself implied in his Allegory of the Cave. Mankind is doomed to Hell without the intervention of Eru in his creation of Arda Unmarred, Arda as it should have been without the existence of Morgoth, Arda as it is in all of our silent dreams. After giving his wisdom to us all, urks-gogoses gives his farewell, as he goes upon his way to give the Truth and Good News to all Mankind. This post is beautiful, as beautiful as the Flower Sutra by Buddha… so beautiful and sublime that only those who truly understand… understand and smile… will be Enlightened.

No one cares where you’re from
There are almost 100 citizen names that go something like this: “generic name” of “generic place.” Talk about a fantasy cliché! You don’t want to be compared with Singollo of Doriath anyway. That dude is trouble.

[] Thank you, Oh Stunted One! []

To explain my choice... Thingol has always been my favorite Tolkien character, bar none. So obviously I was going to choose him as my screen name. Unfortunately, I found out that there were already two registered here: thingol and Thingol Greymantel(sic). I also noticed that both citizens hadn't posted for awhile when I joined, otherwise I would have chosen another character. Since "Thingol" was taken, I decided to register another one of his names. However, I realised that it was a bit obscure... so I added the "of Doriath" so that people would know who I was referring to.

I must say that I disliked "Singollo" from the beginning... but everyone started calling me Singy, Singi, Singo, etc; and the thought of being called "Thingy" didn't appeal to me. [] It was after participating in a thread about Thingol that I finally decided that it was too ironic(in a bad way) to have a Quenya name since my screen-namesake was King of the Sindar and had banned the use of the language. So... []

I have a question.

quote:
Urki-hari are the breading of sharky
Now, are these preferable to battered ones, or not?

Or should I take this to the food thread? I'm seeing them served with tartare sauce and a green salad, yes?

*ponders*

Should that be in the singular? One sharky, or many pieces of sharky?

*ponders some more*

It gets worse. There's even a Gandalf the Greyish []

And why are there two with identical names? I thought that was verboten... []

"Gandalf Greyhame" exists here and here.

It must be said however that the subtlety of wit, the adroit blending of the vernacular with the poetic, makes this Gandalfian incarnation sublimely moronic. Guy should get his own sitcom on the WB...
